Where children are encouraged to discover, explore and play!

I took a rather round about way to become a
teacher! I have a business degree from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison. After a few
different jobs (in a trust company and a law firm), I
found a good fit for my business degree and my love
of children—I worked for two years as a Co-director
of a KinderCare Learning Center.
The more time I spent with the children, the more I
realized that the classroom, not the office, was
where I really wanted to be. So I went back to school
at Mount Mary College and earned my teaching
license.
I am certified to teach prekindergarten through sixth
grade. Meanwhile, I was also starting my family! My
son Matthew was a year old and my daughter
Madison was on her way when I finished my license
so I decided to stay at home for a few years to raise
them before I began teaching in a classroom. Both
Matthew and Madison have attended, and really
enjoyed, CCNS.
This is my third year working here. It is a wonderful
place to work. As for my philosophy on teaching
preschoolers, I truly believe that children learn
through play and by being active in their world. Many
teachable moments occur when I am sitting on the
floor building a tower or having a tea party in the
kitchen.
